changes ; dreizehn

Reading the last two posts, it seems to me that this blog is going to turn German very soon! Just completed my German essay which I obviously wrongly assumed to be easy... it was so difficult not being able to express myself as I would have loved to in English. I felt so constrained by the limitation of the words I knew and it was as though German was simply telling me I have a long way more to go to master it. Ah wells.

We celebrated the Mid-autumn festival together in hall by carrying lanterns and walking along the roadside. It was sweet because we finally put aside our work and business at the end of the day to simply spend some quality time with each other, for that 40 mins or so, under the full moon (:

Another way we learned to enjoy and appreciate the simplicity of each others' company without the fancy ambience, high prices and formal wear, was to go hawker/food court for the meals we will have, for one month. It has been 2 weeks now and I am proud to announce... that we are doing more than just fine. We not only save money, we dress comfortably and have a whole lot of food to choose from. In fact, there are so many more places that many people do not know about, with so awesome food at a good price. Just a sneak peek of what we had.. from ABC market, no filter, look at the colour and size of the mango cubes! So yes, we will be continuing our search for more yummy hawker/food court food, except for... one day this week.. because we will be celebrating our 13th month together!

A lot's been happening recently.. I crashed my dear bikey from preventing my wheels from being stuck in the drainage holes. I flew head(face) first, no, teeth first, into the windscreen of an innocent parked car. Bike is injured, teeth was chipped badly, some injuries on my arms, chin and leg. Still had to go to school, teach micro-teaching in a secondary school, teach tuition, do presentation etc. well. That was how it was like after the crash and living with a chipped tooth for a week.
Now.. I am extremely proud of my teeth!
Loving the colours, but.. not the pokey wire!! The colours were chosen to match the bikey baby has, the one which I have to resort to riding now. Pink and teal! Hooray to straight-ER teeth in... awhile?.. haha

Went for lasik check up, but found that my cornea was not suitable for lasik. Was extremely upset at the fact that so many people could do it, but I could not. He was upset with me for being upset because he didn't want me to give up yet and immediately after my check up, went to call another clinic to make an appointment for me. How sweet is that.? Of course, at that moment when I felt so lousy and short-changed (for the fact i had to pay 256 for an unsuccessful check up), I did not appreciate him for being upset at me. Now that I look back, he was just trying to be positive.


It's the start of our recess week, my last recess week EVER!
I can't wait for tomorrow! JB here we come! (:

Ich lerne jetzt Deutsch so I am trying to practice my writing haha. It's so fun!
Haven't had the time to blog even though I keep wanting to. Have tons of work and readings to do and German to practice! And I thought that this would be the easiest semester of uni life?! Ok I shouldn't be complaining because baby has more work to do. Don't worry k dar, I will help you (:
AND I HAVE DECIDED TO WATCH SESAME STREET IN DEUTSCH. YAY.

Had the most awesome school week since the start of the sem.
We celebrated our 1st anniversary in hall with school and tuition because life's like that. It has to go on no matter how much we just wanted to stay in bed and spend the entire day together not doing anything haha.
3hr card-making session while baby was out was INTENSE. crazy intense. From scratch, and with no idea how it will turn out. Art and craft is definitely not one of my talents and having to make a card with SEWING, drawing, measuring, cutting, and pasting with a not-so-good glue involved, within 3 HOURS was not an easy feat for me. I learnt that stitching 3 pieces of paper together is not the same as mending clothes with small tears. Yes, the very first stitch and I got poked by the needle ): but i continued with stitching another 47 holes, praying that in the next 47 stitches, I wouldn't get poked by the needle again haha. Searching for special countries on the world map and cutting it out wasn't easy either. You see, I'm not a geography student and was giddy trying to find the places. I ended up looking for Hawaii in all the wrong parts of America, and till now, I'm pretty embarrassed to say that I havent managed to find it. Also, I couldn't find Rio so I gave up and cut out Washington instead.
Managed to clear up alllll the mess I made and hide the card before baby came back and found me sitting calmly in my normal work on computer position heehee. Little did he know the craziness and mess that was in the room a few minutes before he came back! thank God for late soccer games for him hahaha.

Awww. At 12, we exchanged our gifts (: i have a very very sneaky baby!!! Hid my gift in his cupboard the entire week without me knowing. Here are pics of just a few out of the many gifts and our simple celebration.

It's been a busy first week of school but i predict that this would be relatively easy compared to the next 12 weeks ahead. Travelling to and fro from tuition has been tiring due to my timetable (which was not yet in full swing last week) and I really don't know how I will be able to schedule all of my tuitions during the weekdays without having to compromise on some things. Money, studying time, relax time or bf time. As of last week, I've been coming back at 1015pm on 4 out of 5 days with cab fares easily amounting to a total of $80 at least. All from surcharge timings sigh.

We've moved in to our new home and it's been wonderful so far. The distance to school may be further but there's the shuttle bus which comes pretty frequently (at least for my timeslots) and thank God that our classes are also near enough to walk from where the shuttle bus stops. The room is slightly smaller, with the layout being quite inconvenient to put our things on the floor, but we successfully changed it to create more space! We've even made room for our babies which wow-ed the neighbours who were having problems making room for their drumsets, without obstructing the only passageway in the room. They actually knocked on our door to ask for a look at our layout!

Moving on from hall and school, babe bought me an iphone5 for my birthday present and 11th month. Thank you love! (: we also went to watch the Phantom of the Opera with supposedly good seats which we paid a lot for, except that this lady in front of me had a big head which could easily block my view of the entire entire scene! It was extremely frustrating having to shift my head when she shifted hers. *roars* Other than that, the theatrics were magnificent and the costumes were so elaborate. Ich hatte ein wunderbar Zeit.
